Financial Meltdown

No aften I agree wi Bufton Tufton at da Torygraph, but dis is spot on.

"The Prime Minister in particular has been brazen in threatening Sir Fred with court action to retrieve a pension package that was signed off by the City minister, Lord Myners. This is grandstanding of the cheapest kind. Sir Fred's deal is obscene, but that does not make it illegal. Mr Brown understands this, but is desperate for the searchlight of public opprobrium to be shifted away from the unfolding debacle in Downing Street. ..."

"... Our thirst for vengeance, though understandable, is distracting us from a terrible reality: the economy is in worse shape than anyone in power is prepared to admit, and public finances are completely out of control.

Oh .. man. Wait until half year announcments - and watch those "toxic" debts multiply - this country has literally "gone" to the dogs, already! Hmm - another bailout - to save what then? Money from where? Jeebus!

Prime Minister chasing his desire for SE England tabloid news-readers to be happy - joke of the largest magnitude! Let him look in his own backyard first .. somewhere he and his party have dumped in for the last decade! Pensions? Let's look closer to home ... Brown!

What is understood is literally half the pie; good money after bad.

What to do? Remove oneself from this country - full stop!

The UK is moving into a protectionist stance. Our GDP is dwarfed by our national debt - and this will only continue to rise. Reading between the lines ... that dead cat hasn't bounced yet - it's nowhere near having died!

*mumble grumble ... apocalyptic blah ... mumble grumble .. where's my tin foil hat?*

Anywhere that's not the UK would be a great starter ... our national debt and our inability to manage our economy is a huge concern, no? Especially since this is nowhere finished ... Brown rambling on about globalisation is some real cringeworthy stuff!

Looks like either... the whole system is going into full meltdown, followed by collapse then into anarchy, ultimately leading to a new system, a fresh start after the dust settles, or.. we end up with crippling levels of tax for the next 20/30/40 years coupled with dire depression, high unemployment and all the nastiness that comes with that lot. Take your pick

A price worth paying for years of rampant house price inflation? what goes up most come doon, come doon with a bloody big bang it will too

In Brown's speech before Congress today he stated, "Working together, there is no challenge to which we are not equal, no obstacle that we cannot overcome, no aspiration so high that it cannot be achieved." He was interrupted many times with standing ovations on both sides of the aisle. To what end are we to believe or trust in two governments pressing for a unification on a global level? Is it finally time the United States and Britain reach an agreement on reunification or should we dare to stay sovereign? It is going to come down to making that very decision.

We face then, according to these leaders and experts in governments, at least five immense challenges which give solid reasons it is time for a new global society, a new world order as Brown calls it.

That's a bit of a surprise, I don't think anyone could have seen that coming.
