Pooks
Maybe not everywhere. I have only found one this year and it had been squashed by a cow. Saying that, I haven't been wandering around the hills for a few days, I will maybe take a look over the weekend.

Baron Farkoff
I've seen so many varieties in the Northern isles recently, brilliant colours and really healthy looking. I'll wager that our excellent summer has given the little darlings a real head start. Marvellous specimens in Yell especially.
Fjool
Shetlink reminds its users that the consumption of random, wild mushrooms is not a good idea. Always be sure to know exactly what species you are consuming. Thank you! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edible_mushrooms
Baron Farkoff
Couldn't agree more. I heard today of a lady who had ingested death cap by mistake very recently. Very sad, but a very good reminder to be extremely careful and respectful when partaking of natures bounty.

Hmm, mushrooms. Tasty, tasty MUSHROOMS! Why the dislike Fjool? They grow out of turds in dank damp nasty places and attract fleas and worms. Why wouldn't you love them? I don't eat cheese. Primarily because it is rotten milk that is mushed up by some bloke somewhere. Mushrooms are rotten by their own nature and therefore a lovely thing. I could eat them until the cows came home (who then stand upon them). A lifeform that is a self replicating turd. Nothing better if you ask me. Yum. Fjool
It's nothing conceptual; the smell and taste are just horrible. I would eat them if they were nice. Honest
Frances144
I must go out for a wander. We usually find tons of mushrooms in our fields but this year I was just thinking it has been very sparse pickings. Hmm.... off for a wander tomorrow evening - I will report back. Always be sure to know exactly what species you are consuming. Thank you! That reminds me of that Croation proverb: "All mushrooms are edible; but some only once." I have a nice healthy respect for wild mushrooms and the only ones I'll eat are the chanterelles (which grow under the blue spruce in Canada) and pine mushrooms (which taste oh-so-fine in a moose meatloaf). Mmmmmm.
Styles
I have plenty of the magic variety growing in a corner of the graden.
