I've got an old snare drum which has some pretty tatty looking chrome plated hardware on it. I'd like to get it looking good again.

Does anyone know if it's realistic to re-do chrome plating?

If so, how, where n how much?

hi McFly

I can reccommend an excellent place. They chrome plated our helmets for jarl squad in 2004 - excellent job too. So I got them to brass plate my dw edge snare and again it came up fantastic!

Give them a shout about what your after - think they can do any colour!! (If youre after a funky looking drum)!

Speak to Simon Dorkings at Satchrome, theyre based in Walsall. Tel no: 01922 622721.

If you want the address get back to me.

McFly, there's a place in Glasgow next to where me n dee n Inness used to practice, right opposite big Eugene's "Lab" at the bottom of Kelvinhaugh Street. I think they might be a bit industrial fur delicate stuff i.e. huge vats of chemicals for doing great big things

On second thoughts, I don't reckommend them. They used a forklift to move Eugenes car one day when they made an ass of reversing a truck out of their yard......

They galvanise massive chunks of metal for building stuff outside pb. Maybe a bit too ship-yard for fiddly little drum bits?
