Suzanna
Hi all you helpful folks, this might be a very, very long shot but does anyone know if there is an apeture card scanner anywhere on the Island, similar to this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nwAYgo_ibM or any that would scan cards, I'm getting a build up of work and my scanner is in hospital at the moment, just hope it isn't terminal. Tried the library with no joy and they tell me the one in the Archives isn't working either. And no, I'm not the sad person that made this video. And thanks for replying
filskadacat
Gosh - I watched that all the way through and have not the faintest idea either what it was doing or indeed why one might wish to do it. Amazing.
Suzanna
Hi sorry, It's negative of a drawing set into a card, it's scanning the drawing, much like an ordinary scanner, and it's the only way I have of getting a print of the drawing that's needed. I'm getting a build up of work and was trying a long shot.
filskadacat
Please don't apologise! Have had ½ bottle of wine with supper and was feeling dim in relation to technology.
shetlandcars
A normal pc flatbed scanner with a film attachment(basically a backlight that shines into the scanner rather as out) should do the trick - more chance of finding one of those in shetland. I think its the same principle as scanning in your photo negatives from what I understand, however as its not a dedicated device for doing this I would imaging that it would take you 4 times as long to process.
