Guest Anonymous
Having trouble with a slight difference in electrical potential between shower and metal waste grate in bottom of shower tray.Voltmeter readings vary from 184V down to 20V.As a temporary measure, assuming that it is an earthing fault, I've put an earth strap between the pipework and the metal shower grate. This is just a temporary fix until electrician can come as I'm pi*sed of with getting shocked, although it keeps the old heart going. Problem started last year and the house was checked by an electrician who supposedly found a fault. He then also added an additional earth plate buried in the ground outside. But methinks electricians here aren't exactly up to UK standard as he didn't bond the pipework to the earth. Any advice, other than call an electrician, would be greatly appreciated. PS. It's not an electric shower. I wish it was, I trust those.
shetlandcars
is it plastic or copper pipework?

muckleflugga
Obviously a fair problem there, but bonding should sort it, just connect everything together with earth clamps and bit of cable. But certainly need a spark to check it out
