Ghostrider
Hi, I was trying to be a wiseass and put a five line signature on my posts, and wanted the end result to look like this: When faced with my demons I clothe them and feed them And I'll smile, yes I'll smile As they're taking me over Catatonia - Strange Glue. However, when I try to do it, the code isn't being read, and I get this instead, or at least that's what the preview pane shows I'll get in the signature line if i go ahead and post: When faced with my demonsI clothe them and feed themAnd I smile, yes I smileAs they're taking me over Catatonia - Strange Glue I didn't add the code, the site did that itself when I typed the above out in the signature box of my "Your Acount". I've tried with the "Always allow html" radio button in the preferences both on and off, but it made no difference, and I'm not finding anything of help in the FAQ's or already posted on this board. Soooooooo....not being the greatest Cyber Techie type around, I'm stumped. Thankyou in advance for any help.

trout
Hello Ghostrider... Welcome to Shetlink. And apologies in the length of reply to your question. HTML code is turned off, hence why you are seeing the markup as plaintext. You should just be able to press Enter to create carriage returns. Ghostrider
Yay....hit wirks....LOL!! Hey there, thankyou for the welcome, and the info re coding. I guess I could have helped myself a bit more, by actually noticing html was listed as switched off in the list of options, to the left of the posting window. Anyhow, all seems well now, once I'd refreshed my memory on the finer points of BBCode from the FAQ's. Thanks again.
