ISOT
Hi guyz, I'm looking to purchase a 42" of one of the above. Can anyone tell me what would be best to go for as I've heard and read conflicting reports. Also I would like to buy local so does anyone have any experience lately of where to get the best deal etc. I know there may be limited choice but my knowledge of all things electronic is to say the least very vague! Cheers

Cheers Here's a couple of decent links on the differences between the two technologies, for 42" it would seem as though LCD would be your best bet! AS for buying local I really couldn't tell you! Good luck! http://www.unbeatable.co.uk/buyingguides/Plasma-Vs-Lcd-Televisions/32.html http://direct.tesco.com/buyersguide/lcd%20versus%20plasma%20tv.aspx
MaxFusion
might be worth waiting for the OLCD's to come out if you're not desperateeven if you don't go for one the older technology's will be cheaper I would expect.... http://www.gadgettastic.com/2007/10/22/samsungs-new-lcd-tv-goes-on-a-diet-just-1cm-thick/ personally I'd have an LCD before any plasma tho
ArabiaTerra
Find a shop which stocks both and view them side by side. Buy the one which looks the best. Simple!
