sassermaet
^^^ Trust them to sensationalise it. Now they're trying to turn it into an episode of Jeremy Kyle! This is why I've no respect for tabloids
Medziotojas
Richard’s mother Barbie-Jayne, 35, backs his story. She has five kids and was a teenager when she gave birth to Richard. Last night she proudly boasted of twice appearing on TV’s Trisha show as a guest on programmes about having an overbearing personality and overactive sex life. ...and we're planning a move to Britain (Shetland) in July. Maybe we're better off where we are. (of course no-one's actually going to force us to watch Trisha or read News of the World)

paulb
sad parents. Yes these things do happen but by the sound of it he his just copying his mum. at most it should have rated a line or two in the local paper not newspaper/tv coverage.why would a very sad family on mainland uk stop you from moving back to shetland. im sure there are randy little beggers over there too. at his age i would have run screaming if a girl offered that. Medziotojas
Scroll up and read my initial post. Tabloids lap this poop (Hey, I actually typed 'poop' to give the sweary filter a rest [after all, it's Sunday and even the sweary filter deserves at least one day off in a week]) up. We are coming in July, see you there ...and it's Trish and Jerry and Eastenders ad nauseam I'm more concerned about--not this one particular family
sassermaet
^^^Well then Medz, here's my advice - don't buy a telly. Stick to radio / internet instead!

Medziotojas
...erm, , yes, still don't miss British telly/tabloids tho.
sassermaet
Well, with TV and radio, I suppose if you don't want to hear / view it, you switch it over. With the internet, navigate onto a different page. And with tabloids, avoid them at the news stand. But anyway, back on topic...imagine how silly that peerie boy's gonna look if they find out he's not the dad. And that 16-year-old who came forward saying it might be his - couldn't he be convicted for that because she's underage? It's unlikely he'd end up on the sex offenders' register but is there still a charge of some sort?
khitajrah
The peerie boy might not be the dad? Shetlink... better than any tabloid!
JustMe
And the girl plus her parents should be prosecuted. She broke the law and they did not prevent it.
JAStewart
^How could they prevent it? Block up her vagina? There isn't much you can do really. I don't think that you can be criminally responsible for your childrens behaviour, because even though someone could be raised excellently, like myself and many of my friends have been, we still drunk alcohol underage, and this had nothing to do with our parents. sassermaet
^^^ True that, JAS! As far as I'm concerned, if you racked up the amount of times myself and my siblings (keep in mind the younger one is now 15) had got drunk before we were 18 they'd each be serving 30 years. Maybe not, but allowing male friends to sleep over in the same bed as your 14 year old is hardly responsible. I do feel uncomfortable commenting on other folks parenting skills, because it's such a fine line between right and wrong, I've done ok so far but it's not over yet, and who knows whats round the corner. But is there no shame left in this world? I would be mortified if this was my children, and I certainly wouldn't want it on the front of the newspapers, for everyone's sake, especially the innocent baby!
