Despite ScotFree's frantic puffing of fags, Tobacco Tax does NOT pay for all of the NHS. Tax on tobacco products brings in £10 billion in revenue. The NHS costs £75 billion. Where will the other £65 billion come from ScotFree? What about education? Will he prefer to see a system where only those who could pay are educated? Care homes for the elderly. Will it be just leave them to rot away in their under-heated homes. Ferries to the outer isles? Council housing? Can't afford to get on the housing ladder, tough. Unemployment benefit? If you are made redundant - tough, starve. ScotFree, while pretending to work for a society that is free, is proposing a world where there is no society at all. Where it'll be everyone for themselves. The ultimate in Thatcherism!! No Fags do not Pay for ALL of the NHS, but smokers certainly do subsidise the non smokers. The surplus revenues from ciggie tax is about 5-1 over the cost of the nhs treating all smoking relatied deseases ! So thank you smokers for subsidising my health care ! Ok tax reveunes firstly do you know how much surplus wealth the United Kingdom has ? Why does eveyone think , this country has to penny pinch ? Has anyone ever stopped to think that the "Budgets" allocated to run Public Society Land are just one small piece of UK Plc. Example I allocate a budget of £400 for my garden each year. The revenues from my garden crops will have to hit that to cover the budget. However, I have net cash, over income streams, investments, savings. Outside of that lot . Whats the UK's Budget you are told on the news ? Its like that chap exposed in the states around the year 2000 The US Government was worth about 160 Trillion dollars compounding its Total Gross reveue returns at between 12-16 % per anum ! Now whats a small matter of a 10 Trillion Deficit , that is advertised as huge growing debt, got to do with the fact that the US Government makes more than that EACH YEAR in returns from its over income streams ? Fact is people do not need to pay any tax, and they are all, net , very well off indeed. 160 Trillion divided by population of the country ? But Its not really the peoples money or the peoples country, as its about corporations and profits for the owners, or stakeholders. Of which, the public are not. Thats the con. TOTAL GROSS REVENUES IN Dont forget returns from investments, cash deposits, business interests etc. Property returns etc, etc, You do not see those figures displayed to you from the government. I was referring to YOU as a member of the SNSP. I am not, never have been, and never will be a member of the SNSP. (Nor for that matter have I been the member of any political party). Such parties as the SNSP, BNP etc totally at odds with my own beliefs. I find your insinuation wrong, disgusting, dangerous and libellous. I ask that you retract it and apologise.
