Don’t call a woman Miss says Brussels

Recommended Posts

BRUSSELS has banned the use of Miss and Mrs in a bid to enforce its dream of ‘gender-neutral’ Euro-speak.

A storm of protest has blown up after politically-correct guidelines were sent to every MEP by the Secretary General of the European Parliament.

A booklet warns them to avoid making reference to a woman’s marital status by using Miss or Mrs when addressing a female colleague.

That also means a ban on Madame and Mademoiselle, Frau and Fraulein, Senora and Senorita. MEPs will have to address women members by their names. And the madness doesn’t stop there. There can be no mention of sportsmen or statesmen — they are athletes and political leaders.

Is X or Y All that’s left ?

A Fe person will now need a He person to pass on his seaperson to get pregnant then

.....and another old TV show goes PC! No hope of ever seeing "Mr & Mrs" again now. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing.

These Euro dudes certainly have too much time on their hands....The galling bit though is its us that's paying for their time thats spent dreaming up crap like this

Now if they can just make all the nouns in French, Spanish etc gender-neutral..... Save heartbreak for generations of schoolkids. Is it le or la/el or la....

If only, if only. And don't forget that German has three genders to grapple with, but real gender is not always a clue to the language gender (girls are not feminine).

BTW I am a bit confused. I was under the impression that soljey = muckleviking. If so, why the multiple identities for this thread?
