BigMouth
Everytime I went in in the evening there were always plenty of people eating, and often in good parties. I should have said that I wondered if the smoking ban has started to impact on the pubs as the licensees suggested it would. As you can tell, I haven't been out for a while! ChristopherWilliamThomson
The Sarmile is not only the greatest takeaway in Lerwick, it is the greatest takeaway in the world... Massive portions, Incredible food. I generally have the Dopiaza (I like onion) on a Chicken Tikka Roll. Apart from that, I have only had average meals in other places. Though this is irrelevant, the only place I have enjoyed a meal time and time again in Glasgow is at Grassroots in St. Georges Cross Studios. Glasgow dudes, have you been to this restaurant? It sells only vegetarian food, yet it is, sublime!
Tomblands
I've eaten in Baroc a couple of times. First was their "All Day Sunday Brunch" that they did for a while around about the time when they did the quiz. Very good, and decent value too, its hard to mess up a fry up I suppose. The only other time I ate there was with the winnings from one of the said quizzes. We went along to the mexican night, what a rip off. Had I actually paid full price for that I would have been raging. The deal was for £10 you got various mexican foodstuffs, the fact there was 4 of us the woman said she would get it on larger plates to share. This seemed to be an excuse for them to charge us for 4 meals and serve us 2. Plus the "refried beans" were blatantly tinned beans mixed with something to attempt to hide the taste, nothing like the refried beans I've had before. BigMouth
Their burgers were brilliant as they were made from ground fillet steak. You could certainly taste the difference from the shop-bought tat.
Judge
On Wednesday this week we were due to fly to Edinburgh and to cut a long story short, we were given dinner vouchers to go across to the local hotel to get something to eat. It had to be seen to be belived the food they were serving. We ordered from the menu and basically couldn't eat anything on the plate. Soup, inedible as was the salad, beef stroganoff and vegetable sir fry. I dont know who could have been in the kitchen to have served up food like that. There were a good few moans and groans going on, but none of the staff seemed to be bothered. When our waitness came to collect out plates, she saw very little had been eaten but didn't ask us why. Im not sure as to who one should direct a comment/complaint to, but BA/Loganair will be informed. Im sure they have a huge contract with this hotel and to serve food like that to anyone is a disgrace. Its now Friday and i still can't get over how bad that food was! JustMe
Was taken for a meal at the new Nepalese/Indian place opposite bolts. Food was tasty, big portions, attentive service (without being pushy) and Nepalese beer!. And sister did not faint when she saw the bill (her treat) so all in all a good place to eat. Judge
Heard really good reports about that place. The Sarmile is the best curry house in Britain. Cafe India in Glasgow is second best.
peerie_flo
does the clickimin cafe have the worst staff in to world???i found the staff very slow and have a defently 'what YOU wanting' attatude, rather than 'can i help you'was in the happy hadock tonight and to be met with the 2 most unhappy young lasses i have ever seen in my life. Do you blame them sam? yeah you can slag them of about them being misrable, but its probably because half the customers are so rude to you sometimes you cant help being pi**ed of. ive worked in a chip shop before and its like people are looking down at you jus because of your job, no pleases or thank yous most of the time whither your polite to them or not. despite that i would still do my best to be polite. im sure if your nice to them they will be nice back. I can certainly agree with that. You can start the day being happy and by the time half a dozen miserable customers have spoilt that happy mood the notion of being polite to customers starts to fade away. That said I always tried to think that there could be a good reason for a customer being miserable.....death of a loved one or the like....but they still had to shop for the rest of the family. Sometimes that thought kept the lid on my emotions when I really wanted to let fly at a customer.

When we ordered the food was horrible and bland and they got the order wrong Anyone else tried there?
skinnyhobbit
My daughter was charged 55p in Solotti's today when she asked for some water in her baby brother's sooky cup!! Unfortunately I wasn't there to complain and she paid it out of her pocket money. Scandalous!

Our group especially recommend the scallops in lime sauce.
Jordan
I recommend any Indian takeaway barr the Raba. We ordered from there last night and for the third time in a row they got the order wrong. I won't be eating there again.
