Local Food Reviews - Dining Out & Take Aways

One place I will not be having coffee again is the Karibuni. Several times over the past few weeks I have seen staff from there - in their hair nets, hats, and uniform walking along the street, going in and out of shops. How come they are exempt from all Health and Hygene rules?

Do they completely change all their work clothes as soon as they get in to the shop? and if they do...then why not remove it before their shopping trips. It leaves me thinking that they probably carry on working in the clothes they were wearing in the street.

Let me stress that it is the members of staff and not their little helpers that I see.

For some obscure reason, I have never tried the restaurant at the Grand Hotel but, having seen some positive reports on this forum, I booked a table for a recent special occasion. I have to state that the food was excellent, with real value for money and the service was first class. The waitress (Lauren) was helpful efficient and pleasant. I would not hesitate to go there again.

There are more than this place that goes out in their working clothes. I have seen Flames staff out the back smoking in their work clothing. It could be something you could bring up with the place.

I worked in a food place before and always made sure I was wearing different clothes while working in there and being outside. (uniforms were provided)

I have been there a few times with work collegues, I agree it was good.

I have yet to try the Queens, I am assuming the food would be similar as its run by the same people? Anyone ever tried from there?
