piggywiggie
I had the American night food at the museum. Top class.
Rubbernecker
Not been in Shetland for ages. What's changed - Mareel - great place, unexciting food.Harbour cafe - really brightened up + food ok. Surprisingly good home baking.Shetland Hotel - wow, nice restaurant. Nice ravioli.Golden Coach - excellent Singapore noodles and Moitze duck.Solottis - sorry to see it is just a takeaway now. We don't have enough places with table service. What's not changed -Osla's - still lacklustre. What is it with that place? Maryfield - But then it's not changed since about 1983! (And I wouldn't want it to)
MJ
Was at Burrastow last night, 1st night of the season. absolutely lovely, even the fussiest of us left satisfied plus the added advantage of being local made it possible to drink without having to take out a mortgage for the taxi home.http://burrastowhouse.co.uk/en/home it's a set 3 course meal last night we had a beautiful broccoli soup followed by melt in the mouth roast lamb & various vegetables (Bairn discovered she LOVES butternut squash) and a lovely ganache, meringue, almonds and cream layered thingy. WGx
Drumquin, in my opinion, is definitely the best place to go on the island. The food is brilliant, with puddings to die for. The portions are more than sufficient. The staff could not be friendlier or any more helpful, but still leave you to enjoy your meal. There is a lovely laid back atmosphere. Quite honestly, the 3 meals I have had there are the best 3 meals I've had on the island. Do not miss this hidden gem.

Frances144
After not leaving the house since January, I finally made my escape into Lerwick today. We went to The Fort for takeaway lunch at 13.00, so lunchtime. The chips on a scale of 1-10 were barely a 4. Revolting. Old, soggy and warm. The white pudding, that I had, was not much better. It had seen better days. Very disappointed and expect more for a lunchtime frying batch. No excuses. Doubt I will go there again tbh. I eat at lunchtime there fairly regular and have never had a duff feesh and chaps - and believe me, I'm damn fussy when it comes to fish and chips! Frances144
No, because by the time we had parked up, opened the wrapper and looked, it really was not worth the effort. Time is very precious to me at the moment - I am one month spinal post-op. I barely made it round Tesco's afterwards and had to be driven home, while I slept in the car. Frances144
No, I am just stating why we could not return with our fish and chips. As I said, time is precious.
JustMe
Had a fish supper from the fort on Friday. Fish was great and the chips were OK.
