BigMouth
Best bacon roll award has got to be Mareel. Now, if they could only make the coffee that good!
Frances144
Your coffee didn't have a mop in it by and chance? And was the "cup" large, yellow and made of plastic with a handle on the top? Did you happen to notice any irate cleaners stomping around looking for something while you were drinking said coffee?Funny you should say that...... Colin
And, I must graciously (unusual for me) disagree with everyone.. Best bacon rolls that I ever had came from Lizzies(?) (the old weighbridge opposite the Bressay Ferry).. nessboy
BigMouth
Da Kitchen Bakery hit the spot with their apple turnovers, and the other half liked their iced ginger cake. It's rare that you can get the apple turnovers as the shop runs out of all the good stuff quickly, and the shelves are left with the less popular lines: Tiffin and flapjack etc. Of course you can't blame the baker for this, the shop (Don Leslie's) needs to look at what sells and what goes less well. Cough - mini-marzies - cough!

It would be a lot busier and cheaper than what's there now, too

breeksy
Was very impressed by the new menu at the Brae Hotel - reasonable price, good serving size (as in satisfied but not stuffed) and very tasty food. With a look.

(the old weighbridge opposite the Bressay Ferry).. Talking of Weighbridges - is the Gremista Weighbridge take-away still open? I never actually tried any of their food, but heard tell it was fine. We got some aafil fine tea & home bakes at the Old Haa Burravoe visitors/ heritage centre on Yell a couple o years ago.

Popular Post Frances144
Just had dinner at The Gurkha Kitchen. Having been to Nepal, I asked for a special dish to be cooked. All I can say it was wonderful, the whole meal was delicious, but the Mo-Mo were the best ever and believe me, I have sampled them everywhere.Thank you very much everyone at The Gurkha Kitchen for making the evening so special. Hugely appreciated. Speccy, Itchyfeet and Scootersprocket
suuusssiiieee
Anyone have views on the chips from the Happy Haddock?. Some seem huge in the tray others small, or just crumbs. Perhaps it's a bad batch o tatties, but their quite poor in the last few weeks.
Frances144
Sometimes a good 10/10, depends totally on when you arrive. Lucky dip really. If they have just done a fresh batch, I would say they are probably the most delicious chips in Shetland.Their haggis was very black puddingy - the haggis at The Fort is much nicer. Crumbly and high quality.
