sheepshagger
If the chancelor cant fill in his tax return without someone to help him what is he doing as chancelor, I have had no economic training other than maths, accountancy is beyond me(under the UK systemn) but I am expected to fill in a self assesment and if I make an honest error I am open to prosecution, he and his predessor came up with the rules for self assesment so surely if anyone in the country should understand them it should be them. I have had several accountants and the inland revenue tell me they have no idea what the hell the rules are and it is better to err on the high side because if i make a mistake tough titty on me

Gorgonzola Butt-cheese
I agree with Nick Clegg today , he is calling for the expense scandal investigation to be widened to include all that dodgy house flipping to avoid tax , mortgages etc and quite right . It just goes to show how out of touch these overpaid parasites still are by revolting against these repayments which are all very small in relation to what they have been creaming off. And Lord Martin being sworn into the house of lords at the same time , whats changed , nothing ..... shower of sh**e .
shetlandpeat
Three guys at my work were sacked for claiming 3 pounds a week fares when they were dropped off by the works van,, So what happens to folk who deliberately use the system for their own gain for hundreds or thousands, advoiding UK Tax. MP's who live a certain distance from the House of Commons should stay in a block of flats purchaced or rented by the Government purely for that reason to allow accomodation while at the Commons... res1122
The personalities who elected by their nation's vote. And take responsibility to run their national Income and Expenses. But their is a different scene, Ministers of different departments make money for improvement of their own life style, not the nation. I really appreciate this discussion. Because this the main cause for our bad economical position. So, we should discuss these matters for logically improvement of our nations. I like it.
