Look on the Web - its all there.

I have, its not. Or, if it is Google won't fetch.

A half decent link or two would be nice.

That apart, it could very well be said that the apparent absence of anything meaningful Googleable relating to either Laider or Gatrill, or the "company's" they allegedly are employed by according to Clark's company's site, unless the mentions on Clark's company's site, says more about the names than any number of pages of text could.

[Edit] My French couldn't so much as let me ask where the nearest karzi was, before it was waay to late to need it if I had a dose of the runs! The names weren't pulling any foreign language pages anyway, whatever else may be in foreign language, folks names won't. Links or it doesn't exist?!? [/Edit]

If you doubt the facts - do the research!

^ I would suggest that it is incumbent upon you to share your research, rather than leave this as an exercise for the reader. Surely if it is readily available you will be able to furnish us with links?

Mr Clark has now removed his Dalzell Projects website but someone will have it.

Looks like it is still there when I checked just now. Which particular page are we talking about?

http://www.dalzell.org.uk/page1.html

http://www.dalzell.org.uk/page2.html

..

etc

When Clark was being appointed for the role, his CV must have seemed very attractive at the time. The SIC statement, announcing his appointment, stated:

Mr Clark currently lives in Motherwell and has been Projects Director of his own consultancy business since 2002. This has seen him working with the private and public sector delivering multi-million pound projects for clients ranging from Balfour Kilpatrick, Scottish Power, Glenmorangie, and a number of Local Authorities including South Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire and Westminster City.

His notable achievements during that time include revolutionising Westminster City Council’s £10 billion Asset Strategy, managing the delivery of £450 million New build and Regeneration programmes. He has also built and led a new in-house project delivery team leading organisational change and embedding best practice in City West Homes, an arms length branch of Westminster City Council which enabled them to achieve a 3 star Excellence Award by the Audit Commission.

His career began at British Steel Works, Motherwell as a Chartered Electronic Engineer and he was promoted a number times to become Manufacturing Operations Manager where he controlled all aspects of manufacturing with £multi-million annual product and employee costs. As a Trade Union Shop Steward in this heavily unionised environment, he successfully lobbied the Prime Minister, the EU, National and Local Government to gain support for considerable financial investment at Dalzell Steelworks in Motherwell.

Mr Clark applied for the post as he believes that “whilst the post offers very real challenges, it is one of the very few at present where those challenges are positiveâ€.

What was unknown at the time was that coping with Clark was the biggest challenge of all. It will be interesting googling some of the "achievements" mentioned above to see if he really did smell of roses or whether he just, comparatively speaking, made the tea or opened the post at the time.

To be fair to Mr Laidler he did achieve a 2.2 (not exactly a high achiever) Honours degree (after 4 years of full-time study) in Building Surveying at the University of Northumbria. However no professional qualifications can be found. His "consultancy" turns out to be a building & civil engineering company with no office, no premises and no landline 'phone.

Mr Clark who was "Projects Director" of his "consultancy" was apparently the only working member of staff of an outfit which operated from a one-bedroom flat (in which he and his wife also lived) in Motherwell. His accounts suggest a very low turnover.

did mr clark ever work with westminster council or was it his associates.

From the website:-

"£125m Westminster New Build Commences »

CityWest Homes commences their New Community Build social housing development for Westminster City Council.

dalzell projects led the preparation of the programme and successful Housing Corporation grant application process.

This will deliver some 500 new homes for £125 million, right in the heart of the Capital."

Answering the Mod - I have!

These are facts which are public knowledge and can be accessed by anyone.

Theres more to come:

Mr Clark reported to Councillors that Laidler was a "qualified" surveyor.

Enquiries to all the reputable professional institutions reveal that he is not.

Gatrill (said to be one of Clark's referees) was convicted in Paris of a massive fraud involving many millions of francs - there were also suicides and murders connected with this fraud. Clark had "a close partnership" with Gatrill. Look on the Web - its all there.

Well, I read the article and altough my French may not be up to it, I saw no evidence that Gatrill had been "convicted" of anything. Anyway, what are you saying - that Clark is guilty by association?

from that website.......

Paul Gatrill started work as a building surveyor 46 years ago and qualified as an engineer 35 years ago. Since then he has worked for blue-chip companies across the world in countries including the US, Canada, Australia, Indonesia and Singapore, as well as Europe. He began project management work in 1972 and international project management work in 1979. He became self-employed in 1997 at the age of 60.

if its the same guy that means he must 73 now!

What does that amount to in plain English though?

Dumbing it down to the max it could be as little as filling in the grant forms and overseeing the planning stage. Assuming the alleged "partners" are competent at what they claim they do, there should have been enough expertise within DP to handle a 500 unit build that DC needn't necessarily have been involved in any meaningful way.

This document appears to show Mr Clark's arrival at Westminister

2.4 We have a new TMO contact for major works – Dave Clarke.

Action – IM to send details.

2.5 DC introduced himself. He said that he was now in charge of projects and

project managers and had been asked to give TMOs support and direction. It

is up to the TMO how we do this. It could be that they want to contact him

when there are issues with projects not progressing, or he will act in a support

role when projects are up and running. He is your point of contact so please

let him know if you have problems.
