Frances144
You are right, Fifi - it was my conversation with you last week when I tried to convince you take my Very Happy Goats! I just have to get OH to make me an "honesty box" that can be locked and bingo! We will be open for business.

fairislefaerie
you are allowed a sales table at the end of your road providing you provide boxes for the eggs or customers take their own, the eggs must not be boxed by you unless you are a registered packing station, same with veg. Home bakes, technically, not allowed unless you have your kitchen hygiene certs etc. £1 per half doz organic free range is underpricing yourself woman ! Frances144
That all makes perfect sense. So you have a bowl of eggs and a pile of boxes and someone can help themselves to however many and pay (hopefully) the agreed price. Do you have a box they can take cash out of or only cash in? Is that how it works? Ok, what about surplus garden veg?
Njugglebreck
What about a barter box? for example, 2 rabbits = 1doz eggs1 teeny trout = cup of coffee1 breadlag goose (in season) = eggs + brownies?
Frances144
One Saturday Guardian (with magazine!) = 6 eggs
fairislefaerie
We used to just have an honesty box, never had anything go missing from it, but then, we didnt have dishonest folks around us. Surpless veg you used to be able to sell, just in a box with pricing displayed & a handy box of re-used carrier bags for folk to use. Frances144
You don't live where I live There are one or two folk, who go passed on a regular basis, who would bite your hands off and not spit out the rings!

Frances144
Well my table (freezer box chained to the strainer!) is up and functional. If you want fresh free range eggs from exceptionally cheerful hens, then go for a trip to Mid Walls. We are just opposite Gravens and before the Watsness turn off.
