I've read plenty of books about the 3rd Reich and the Holocaust, a lot more than most folk, I would wager. If you haven't read it, Hitler's Willing Executioners by Daniel Jonah Goldhagen is about the best of them. It's the first book I've read that comes close to explaining the "why" of the holocaust, rather than just the "how", "who" or "where".

 

Reading plenty of books but not thinking about them is not going to help.

gldhagens book is one of the most horrible publications on "Germans" ever made.

His ultimate point is that we couldn't help it, we're like that, it's more or less dictated by the genes.

As a German I feel horribly offended by this book. It's jsut racism in another way, you could just as well say: English can't help doing stupid things, they're dumb, it's part of their nature, it's in their genes...

This book said nothing about the genetic makeup of the German population. It simply posited that the German and (even more so), the Austrian populations in the early 20th century were culturally anti-semitic. Hitler did not derive his beliefs in a vacuum, he did not simply pull them out of the air. His beliefs were formed by the culture in which he was brought up. It still took the insanity of Hitler and the rest of the fanatical nazi's to take these beliefs to their logical conclusion, but the final solution also required the active participation of the German and Austrian populations, the majority of whom were never members of the nazi party. To deny this is to deny history.

The first thing we should do to prevent CO2 emisions climbing out of control is stop pandering to the unproductive and the lazy in society, far too many resources are wasted keeping folk that contribute damn all.

get rid of them and things will look a lot brighter for everyone else that does contribute to their own upkeep.

get rid of the welfare state and soon enough folk will start too look after themselves or fall by the wayside, we will have to change the law so decent folk are allowed to use deadly force to protect their property from the lazy theiving scum that get off scot free at the moment and hey presto population control is a fact of life

Not sure the starving children in the Third World living off aid shipments will read this rona, but it's nice of you to make your feelings clear to them.

 

Just for clarity though: When your neighbour gets paid off long term, when the subsidies stop being paid out, when there are no new businesses to start and no growth in existing industry, when his kids are starving, when his pride and fear of abuse from an outwardly right-wing neighbour prevent him from asking for help, when he sneaks over the fence to pinch a handful of your hobby-grown tatties to feed his family, - a bullet will do the world a favour?

there is a balance tho , easy tiger, most inner cities have thier "not so great" areas where drugs n benefits are the culture, but lots a fine folk come from amongst that too. Personally as somebody wi teenagers growin up in a "mixed/working/non working" area of a city i do worry. It is Shetland culture to get off yer ers an do something, but unfortunately not every youngster is equipped wi the perfect persona to thrive in every situation n society can sideline the ones not entirely suited to thier local surroundings, only mentioning that point cos its relevant to me. The world is almost certainly overpopulated but culling people or leaving ones to die is kinda bizzare viewpoint

So we are not so much talking about living like an indigenous native here, more about eating kiwi fruit and self-determinist vigilantism with firearms.

 

Nature's pretty coorse, du kens. Many top predators kill the offspring of females they take on with. Hyaena sibling pups start trying to kill each other from birth. Unsupported females leave their offspring to die in order to support themselves.

 

Humans all over the globe ate each other in times of hunger in different ages of history - and also to assert their dominance in some cultures. So howz about it, get a job in McD's or you become part of the menu? That would be efficient.

 

But, the point still remains, parochial welfare state issues aside, how about aid to disaster struck countries? Leave them to nature? Yes/No, simple question.

In this country we have 3d and 4th generation unemployed and unemployable because of bleeding heart fannies and the welfare state.

In Africa we are now feeding the children and grandchildren of those we were feeding in the 80s with live aid.

If we had let nature run its course instead of being sucked in by Bob geldoffs bull then 30 years of suffering could have been avoided.

and female rabbits will eat their young if the nest is threatened. boy the bond between mother and child is strong, or maybe the line from barnacle balls the sailor has more truth than most folks realise
