MuckleJoannie
Confederation of African Football decision over Togo makes no sense ...the decision by the Confederation of African Football (Caf) to expel Togo from the next two Africa Cup of Nations - following their Angola 2010 withdrawal after their team bus was machine-gunned (with two team officials dying) - is simply jaw-dropping. When considering that two team officials lost their life, the African ruling body really does seem to believe Bill Shankly's well-worn opinions on football being more important than life and, more pertinently here, death. Malcolm
Reliably PC >From the UK, and submitted without comment... Recruitment boss Nicole Mamo, 48, tried to post an advert for a £5.80-an-hour domestic cleaner on her local Jobcentre Plus website. She ended thejob offer by saying that any applicants for the post 'must be very reliableand hard-working'. But when Ms Mamo called the Jobcentre Plus in Thetford, Norfolk, thefollowing day she was told that her advert would not be displayed. AJobcentre Plus worker claimed that the word 'reliable' meant they could besued for discriminating against unreliable workers. The mother-of-two from Hertfordshire today slammed the situation as'ridiculous'. She said: 'I placed the advert on the website and when Iphoned up to check I was told it hadn't been displayed in the job centreitself. The Job Centre in Thetford, Norfolk, said the advert discriminated againstunreliable people. 'She said "oh we can't put that advert on the jobpoints". 'She said it was because they could have cases against them fordiscriminating against unreliable people.'
