^^ Would it be fair to presume that all syringe needles are manufactured to a certain standard and it would incur extra cost to have a manufacturing company specifically keep aside 'substandard' needles for prison use?

why dont they just use "used" needles and keep down the cost of killing someone. as a box of needles can be quite expensive and its not as if the prisoner is going to be caring if they catch something as its their last moment as they have been given the death penalty

Fair point.

why is that when a pipe came off my car....i was told it didnt really need it but it would cost 40 odd quid to replace it??

Many things about a car are not really needed....windows, doors, tyres, more than one seat, heater, all the warning lights and gauges.....they just make life more comfortable, and the car run longer and better if you have them. Maybe the bit of pipe comes in to the same category.

And what happened to my very lovely Folio Society edition of Schrodinger's 'What is Life?'. It disappeared off my bookshelf about 8 years ago and hasn't been seen since. :(

If you hadn't looked on your bookshelf for it then according to Schrodinger it would still be there.

somebody more knowledgeable will give you a long winded asnswer but its a very old method of mixing lime plaster that doesnt have modern additives and takes a good few years to sort itself out , pretty specialist stuff doin the real old ways , well over my head
