There's never been a white Hendrix.

Quite possibly my favourite Shetlink post to date.

I'm reluctant to engage in dialogue regarding the BNP as I fear I may end up with Repetitive Strain Injury; it's not so much a case of where you start, rather where do you finish. However...

Imagine my surprise one morning last week, when I awoke to discover someone had effectively sh@t in my letterbox. No, I'd not fallen victim to a local gang of neds. Alas, my postcode had been canvassed by the one and only British Neanderthal Party.

I've always followed the BNP media coverage with somewhat of a morbid curiosity. I find it very difficult to regress to such a mind state which would enable me to begin to comprehend the absurdity emanating from some members of society, loosely regarded (and permitted to vocalise such sentiments, ironically, by virtue of the very institution they seem to model themselves on the polar opposite of) as part of the British democratic system.

That morning, while putting the kettle on I scanned over the offending article. Aesthetically, the leaflet was good for a laugh. If I recall correctly Spitfires, builders and pigs were the chosen graphical focus? Maybe that was just my street, it did seem a bit absurd to be true...

However, I have to concede the fact that they are one of the few political parties (I use that term loosely) to address the monumental discontent attributable to some very real and serious problems this country faces, without regard to PC etiquette which other parties are bound to as a result of standing a chance at winning a decent number of seats. They project a party persona that shouts action and actually means something to the population, and are exemplary at finding a scapegoat for every problem and crisis they've managed to cram onto the A5 sheet of unadulterated ignorance and intolerance. To be fair, they're way out in front on that score.

Only my opinion, may be way off the mark. I wasn't a voting tax payer during the last recession, so I don't have previous first-hand experience to call upon. But I do think the economic situation lends itself well to the proliferation of nutters, and bids of political leadership by the mentally unstable/warped.

The U.K has a clean record of never having voted a bnp candidate in to office (apart from the chap who is on the london council).

If they do succeed in getting even 1 elected on 4th June they reckon that Gordon Brown would be finished much quicker than he is already going .

It all sounds grim or grimmer , of course I can understand Gordon hanging on in the hope that there is a noticible improvement with the countries fortunes and so that his legacy is not one of total failure .

But he must be the most unpopular prime on the scene since i dont know when .

I would rather see him staying another year than a bnp nut on the scene although its a very poor choice to have !
