I'm intrigued to get your opinion on something Malachy, since I tend to agree with your views and such:

I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

Agree/Disagree?

The issue of freedom of speech is never as simple as some people make out - there are many grey areas. For instance, there are not many people who think the BNP should be banned, or that racist speech should be punishable by prison (the incitement to racial violence is obviously another grey area, but bear with me...). I certainly don't think they should be banned, or that racist speech could be outlawed in any way. But, on the other hand, do I think that racist people should be allowed to say what they want, wherever they want? On Blue Peter, for instance? Or in a classroom? Er, no. Is that restricting their freedom of speech? Probably it is. But that's because there is a difference between freedom of private speech and freedom of public speech. We all have the right to deliberately offend each other in private, but that right should not necessarily be extended to every part of the public arena.

So, a bit of a complicated answer there. Sorry.

I despise the BNP as much as the rest of you, and I firmly believe racism has no place in the world, but lets look at some facts on your other more socially acceptable political movements.

We now have, due to blatant lies, greed and excessive use of force:

1/2 a million dead civilian Iraqis, men women and children.

Hundreds of dead UK service men and women.

Hundreds of dead civilian Afghanis

Forgive me if I don't jump up and down screaming, "Yay!"

Those who voted labour or for any party who supported these acts of war, and continued to vote for them after this hideous and immoral resource plundering greed fuelled escapade DO have these innocent peoples blood on their hands, New labour went way beyond racism, and hardly anyone batted an eye. Entirely typical sheep like mentality of the uk populace.

Are the BNP the only hope for Britain? Yes...if all known supporters and party members agree to a Battle Royale on some abandoned island.

I can't stand the BNP - I can remember a few years back, when an election was on, they were putting leaflets through folk's doors and demanding votes - even going as far as to suggest that the majority of racist attacks were carried out against white people. I would be keen to know where that daft moomin got his statistics from as, funnily enough, he didn't mention it. I'm pretty certain that leaflet ended up fuelling our rayburn the night after we got it, and rightly so.

I'm all for folk and their own opinions, and I think political correctness is a load of *insert choice expletive here* but if opinions are genuinely racist they should be banned, and the same goes for the BNP. I don't know why they don't just re-name themselves BRP or BFP - do they think they're fooling anyone, hiding under a nationalist veil?

As for that leader of theirs, well...I wouldn't piddle on him if he was on fire. In fact I'd award a knighthood to whoever was responsible for setting him alight.

Do you honestly think that the Conservatives or Liberal Democrats would've done any different?

I firmly believe that if you haven't put anything into the country's economy you shouldn't get anything out...no matter where you come from.

So does that mean that children shouldn't be allowed to go to school until they've paid enough tax?

Education is one thing Malachy, you're avoiding the point tho....

I'm speaking about benefits etc. you shouldn't even be alowed dole money unless you've paid some taxes.

go to Holland and try and claim Benefits without having worked

I would be keen to know where that daft moomin got his statistics

the thing there is that in some places in the UK the whites are in the minority, and it's apparently the Asians that are the worst for being Racist

google it if you don't believe

The Conservatives also supported the war.[/i]

Even young children and the severely disabled ?

I hear of plenty of people claiming they are severely disabled who could quite easily manage a job they're just too damn lazy and the goverment is quite happy for them to sit on their ass watching daytime tv wasting my tax dollars

The fact is that immigrants don't come to Britain to seek benefits, they come to work. People do not risk their lives travelling across the world to sit on their backsides and get a few quid unemployment benefits, they come to earn as much as they can from whatever job they can get. And if they come legally, they pay tax. If they don't then they can't get benefits. But are still, you could argue, helping to drive the economy. And then, the same people who accuse them of not contributing will accuse them of stealing 'our' jobs.

On the other hand there are asylum seekers, who are not allowed to work until their applications have been accepted or refused. Britain has a legal right to take asylum seekers, and rightly so. Asylum seekers cost the state money while their applications are considered, but the fact this process is so slow is harldy their own fault. If the system was faster they could get to work quicker. Then they'd pay tax.
