This is not meant to criticise......intended to be helpful. Short demo tracks. Ok to have them but would it be better to have them on one page.

Perhaps too much traditional stuff and not enough from young Shetland bands trying to break into.....well wherever.

Techie point. Downloads.....how?. Click on the link and the music plays in Windows media player (I must change that and change my soundcard while I remember). Ok so I know but others might not.

Must admit that all the full tracks on the downloads page I have already downloaded but that Son House track leads to something brilliant. A whole pile of 1930s blues which I will be downloading the first chance I get.

Ok so I thought Primus was a type of cooking stove and bluse are not going to be to everyones taste but so what.

Sorry it's taken so long to get back to you......

We'll look into that

None of the music is hosted on our site. We aim to have a database of all the Shetland music downloads on the net. If you know of music on any of the younger bands sites, please let us know (you can submit them via the downloads section) Alternatively, if any younger (or older!) bands wish to get their music online, give us a shout and we'll see what we can do. If there's a demand, we could start a section of this site devoted to hosting local music mp3s. What do you think?

There are a couple of points to address here. Firstly, the techie point. The functionality of the downloads section of the site was designed on an Apple Mac running iTunes so I'm not 100% sure whats happening on your PC. I presume you had Windows Media Player as your default mp3 player?

The second point is copyright. We were trying to avoid potential intellectual property infringements by avoiding direct downloads of other peoples music from our site. However, almost all of the musicians and copyright holders have expressed that they are happy for us to allow just that.

We'll be revamping the downloads section soon. Cheers, admin
