MJ
Anyone else been listening to Eion Colfer's part six of the Hitchhiker's Guide? Bairn Loves it, but so far it just seems to be recapping all the other books. Doesn't help that it seems to be read by the same guy who did the last few Artemis Fowl talking books. Plus now seem to be getting it in the neck because iplayer isn't playing radio 4 programmes.
Njugle
I heard that on tuesday night, thoroughly enjoyed it. Didn't understand the introduction to it, but your question sort of answers that.
TeeAyBee
I'm not sure about this. Rebooting existing well loved stories are always a risk. William Horwood did in my opinion a fine job with the "Wind in the Willows", and I've not yet had the opportunity to read the new Winnie the Pooh. This extension to the HHTG story to me sounds like fan fiction. It has taken the characters in a direction that I'm not sure that Douglas Adams intended or indeed that works. I'll continue with it as I think it is by no means bad fan fiction, but I don't think it is up to the standard that Mr Adams delivered.
