The highest ever recorded wind speed record in Great Britain was recorded at Hermaness in 1991.

 

I believe it was 192mph, but they believe it was higher than this although they can't prove it as the equipment blew away.

Jan Pienkowski's a bloke!

My entire childhood I thought he was a Jan (like the shortened Janet), I'll blame my father as he was the one who introduced me to the amazing books.
