The Australian Prime Minister's stance to Australian muslims

Recommended Posts

Despite the fact that some may feel the statement below is strong, I think this guy has his head fully screwed on and I think more leaders worldwide should follow his example :D Read on..........

Prime Minister Kevin Rudd said; Australian Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.

Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques.

Quote: 'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians'.

'This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom'.

'We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society . Learn the language!'

'Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.'

'We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.'

'This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'.''If you aren't happy here then LEAVE.. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.'

See things haven't changed so much then with the new pm

Roll on the colonial spirit eh, 200 years of history, most of it destroying thousands of years of Aboriginal history never mind the environment.

I have contacts with Australia, breifly spent times in some 'multi-cultral' schools in melbourne and by and large racism and sexism is rife. The head of the educational department even made a comment that we'd be meeting so-and-so, she's asian but she's OK!

A friend of mine works with Aboriginal communties in the far north and they are totally displaced and bereft of identity leaving them in the sorry state many of them are in.

Australia is a very multicultural society, traded with southern asian countries before we even knew it existed.

OK this rant is nothing to do with Sharia law or Muslims but I think he has a damned cheek considering all what his 'Christian' society has done including stealing mixed race kids from their families until the mid 70's.

May be if traditional Aborigianl Laws were introduced it would sort out a few issues, their justice is much more direct, may be a bit more akin to Sharia Law.

Radical Christians are more of a threat (particularly USA), without them there probably wouldn't even be the terror issue on the scale it has been. They radicalised the 'terrorists'.

Grrrrr

Australians are immigrants.

Did you learn the Aboriginals language?

And this is assumed to be a good thing? There's a lot to not be proud of with relation to Yahweh.

The author of those remarks was John Howard, not Kevin Rudd. If you're going to quote brainless, jingoistic guff like this, at least get your facts right.

Witless claptrap of this sort is the kind of thing that got Howard voted out of office.

Between MV Tampa/Children overboard, the persecution of Dr Haneef and the Pacific solution for refugees, Howards stance on relations with the Muslim community has been characterised by shameless fear and hate mongering. In short, not the sort of guy I'm inclined to take moral guidance from.

"Well said"? "Pure dead brilliant?" I lived in Australia through the dying days of the Howard government. Political oblivion is the least the odious little sharn deserves.
