Guest Anonymous
Has anybody else watched this program on Virgin 1?Have to admit I'm not sure if I'd watch it again, simply because it could be addictive. But a thought crossed my mind that something based on the concept could be a great way to combine a dinner party with a fund raising event for charity.Maybe the way it could be done in Shetland would be by local halls competing against each other, in a format like the TV show. Just a thought, but It's a different idea from Sunday teas, raffles, etc.

anniecool
Years ago I did an All Day Breakfast at home for charity. Invited as many people as I could and cooked breakfasts for them until well into the afternoon. This raised several hundred pounds.
Longdog
Never saw that programe but I think I remember Jamie Oliver doing some thing like that in New York in his recent Jamie does America series. Certainly seems like a fun and socilal way to help others, win win situation really.
hellsbells
I've watched this programme a few times. Some of it is a bit cringeworthy but on the whole it's a good idea and as Auld Rasmie says it could be done throughout the isles using the halls and proceeds could go to local charity.
