Well Bryan surely the points re jobs, (**moderator edit**), money, names, and allegations of some kind of under hand dealings etcetera are fairly obvious, as are cheap shots?

All references to the names of individuals involved, job titles, work places and salaries have already been removed

But a few posts as so obvious that the blocking of a name does nothing

The moderators have warned posters several times that any allegations are as yet unproven. As I don't know the individuals well or fully understand the situation I can't comment on whether the allegations remain obvious when details are removed. I will again ask users to help us out by bringing any inappropriate posts to our attention

It is impossible for us to vet every post before it appears but we're trying our best to stay on top of this

I may well be wrong on that point. I'm not in possession of a current SFA constitution and i haven't had the chance to speak to the individuals in person.

Hopefully people will begin to comment a bit more responsibly on this matter.

Anyone else spot the irony in "Reason's" post??? :?:

The Shetland Football Association have received an official letter of complaint from Lerwick Thistle. This issue will have to be investigated by a disciplinary meeting (Chaired by Bruce Crossan -Disciplinary Secretary)following the monthly meeting on Thursday evening.

Something to act on then. Still does not mean they have agreed to let him go yet though.

It will interesting to see what the comittee decide to do then, as the player could fall foul of the SAFA rule 8 that states he cant be considerd an amatuer if he has received any renumeration or consideration beyond his normal travelling and hotel expenses, but the association would need to prove that he was offered the alleged job on the basis he signed for delting, cant believe as Kirsty states he was stupid enough to tell people that this was the case though.

My mole at the association informs me that a committee of Bruce Crossan, Paul Regan and Neil Bristow will be investigating the matter following the reading of Thistle's letter of complaint tonight by interviewing Leighton, Delting representitives and Delting representitives.

All these rules.....why should a player be prevented from moving to another team at any time. Obviously I exclude professional players who have a contract of employment but just why should a Shetland player not move to another team if he wants to?.....or even play for two teams. Not in the same match that is.

When it comes to the paid players be they from Ross County or Celtic then what is all this nonsense about transfer windows. Players should be free to move at any time as long as the team they have a contract with is willing to let them go......and the team they go to should be able to play a new signing at the next game.....even if it is about to start.

All the above comments are not limited to football or indeed sport. As a basic human right we should all be free to change jobs having given the required notice.....or with early release from an employment contract with the consent of our employer.

I wish you lot would all get of your high horse and give the boy a break!

He's made a mistake, all this rubbish on this site about it and the pathetic article on the inside cover of the local rag is quite pathetic not to mention the front page, do they have nothing better to write about this week? Obviously not!

Everyone makes mistakes let them get on with it give the boy a 4 game ban or whatever deduct Delting 3 or 4 points not that it will matter anyway, come the end of the season it will all be blown over and the boy will be able to join whoever he likes and work for whoever he likes. As far as I'm concerned the person in question has been made the pig in the middle by certain individuals who should no better, end of story!

:D

This kind of thing is not new to Shetland football but has never had the platform it has now too bring it to the fore. The game of soccer in amateur terms means the player involved can play for whoever he wants and the contract that is signed by said player is but a piece of confetti.

Ness United done the same thing to Delting a number of years ago when the manager of Interior Designs (don't worry mods they went down the same tubes as Ness Utd)signed (**Moderator edit - name removed**) in the same circumstances.

Did Delting hit the headlines in the local Haggis supper wrap the following week.....well sadly NO. Because as anyone will tell you.......who cares, unless your a hack with an interest in the once mighty Lerwick Thistle.
