daveh
Having dropped our digital camera, which was getting a bit ancient anyway, I am thinking of buying a new one. There are loads of them on Amazon with some good discounts right now but I am wondering if anyone here could recommend a particular make/model. Thanks. trout
Go and talk with Ben at the camera centre. He'll probably try and sell you one mind .. but will definitely point you in the right direction. Pretty competative prices anyroad.
Sheltie7
Depending on how much you want to spend but the Canon G9 is a great little camera. You can pick one for less than £300 now.

nautim
I bought a Panasonic DMC-TZ6 earlier this year - 10.1 Megapixels with a 12 x optical zoom. I've been really pleased with it - it's small, light, takes good photos (in my opinion) and can do everything I can think of so far in terms of a want list.My niece bought one after seeing my camera and has also been pleased with it. She's doing an art degree so her requirements are different from mine (snaps, people and views) but it seems to be adequate for both purposes. Hope that helps. If you want any more detail then just PM me.
shetlandpeat
You can get a reconditioned camera from manufacturer. They tend to be better quality cos of the repair process, ie a person will set it up manually as against a bulk set up at factory. I got a nice Kodak for 40% cheeper than shops, still with warrenty good luck
daveh
Thanks again, shetlandpeat.

mac53
Consider Nikon S210 or later model S220 if you want pocket size & ease of use plus good range of features. now New from about £85 on Ebay though local shop might nearly match that.
