clanchief
The firm that has got the earth moving/road construction/ site preparation work is called ROADBRIDGE , they are an Irish firm who say that they would welcome CVs from suitably qualified Shetland residents. Check out their web site. The contact for TOTAL is rhonda.kelly@total.com Best of luck

Guest Anonymous
any idea yet what the rates o pay will be ?
clanchief
TOTAL say that the rate of pay for the permanent jobs will be the "industry standard" so they will not be poaching staff from the existing terminal. They also propose to employ 5 apprentices each year and they will fund their training to a high industry standard with scope to move for promotion anywhere within TOTAL's hom and overseas business. haggis
If you go to www.laggan-tormore.com and look at the recruitment pages you will get contact details for both Total and Petrofac. Petrofac have the contract to build the gas plant and accommodation, so they will be doing most of the recruitment. They have their own dedicated agency Atlantic Resourcing. Hope that helps
Ertieiddabanks
I know several guys who are doing the groundworks. roadbridge is using an agency who are paying £6.50 an hour, the guys have to pay their own tax and national insurance and they are expected to work 77 hours a week for this flat rate while the incoming irishmen are paid 18 euros an hour, have all their meals and all their accomodation paid for them. The only reason these guys are staying with the agency is in the hope of better jobs once the road is finished but this looks to me like a standard is being set whereby locals are used as essentially slave labour and service personnel. Guest Anonymous
Well said ertie, what a good example of our council getting a good deal for the locals when dealing with a national company, I can't wait for all the high paid jobs that will come with the wind farm
WGx
I would like to send my C.V in for an admin job, or even making beds in the camp. However, I don't know who has the contract for this side of things or an address to send it to. Any help guys?
haggis
The contract is held by Petrofac and is subcontracted to ESS. If you send your cv to Total at info.hr@laggan-tormore.com they will keep on their file and forward on to the relevant contractor. Petrofac have their own agency Atlantic Resourcing - resourcing@petrofac.com you will get them directly. Hope that helps
unlinkedstudent
I've heard that if you are self-employed, they don't want to know and insist you form a company. That's a real shame because I'm sure there are an awful lot of folk up here who are sole traders.
Ronald
Have ESS officially been given the contract yet, I was told no decision has been made yet, though I did hear ess were getting it .
