Private message function

Hi,

I have a problem with sending private messages. Sometimes they work fine, other times I have a problem with them not sending. They go into the black hole that is my outbox on shetlink. Does anyone else have this problem or is it just me?? Once they are in the outbox, is there anyway of getting them out? I have things for sale and cant get people answered queries about them.

PMs only move from your Outbox when the recipient reads them. This is exactly correct and you needn't worry.

Oh, cos I was sending ones last night to different folk and they were all appearing in there immediately, and are not showing in the sent items at all.

Yes, it's a bit confusing at first but it's quite ok. Useful to be able to tell when they've been read.

So, whats the difference with the ones in the sent box that I know have been read? They are in the sent box and not in the outbox?

Sent box = read, Outbox= unread.

hi not sure if this the right section but whats the difference between sent box and out box in the pm section obviously sent is sent emails is out the same as a couple of my pm's have went into the outbox so not sure if they have been sent or not

One of them is where all PMs you send go until they're opened by the person they've been sent to. Once opened by the other person, they move across to to other one. I can't remember which is which though.

 

I think you can still edit or cancel them while they're still in the first box, if I remember right.
