Egbert-Mcwhirter
Sandy needs to do the decent thing and relinquish his post. His watch has been an unmitigated and abhorrent disaster.

Brian
The Shetlink Party has one idea and one slogan: 'Sandie musst goe'. Imagine the confusion and loss if he did. Better for you guys if he stays ...

Better for you guys if he stays ... I cannot understand, why you think that there is common viewpoint from the contributers to Shetlink. The evidence of the many (continuing) arguments indicates otherwise. The current poll indicates a majority would prefer Cllr. Cluness to stand down from his position as Convenor. It is a public poll that our Convenor should be aware of.

Skunnered
Has he really done that a bad job he should resign ? What is it that everyone thinks he has done so bad ?1. Wasting a huge amount of time and money (about £6M +) in a totally useless dispute with the LHT regarding dredging in connection with the Bressay bridge.2. The whole Bressay bridge / tunnel fiasco.3. Insisting that the new Anderson High should be built at the Knab when it was clearly the wrong place for a whole raft of reasons.4. Failing to steer the council to speedy and sensible decisions regarding several major projects such as the Anderson High, Bressay connection, Whalsay connection, etc. etc.5. The CT fiasco (ongoing)6. (Other Shetlinkers please feel free to add to the list.)

oddtablet
Please resign Mr Cluness for some of the following reasons :- 1. your lack of appropriate leadership2. being totally arrogance to continually suggest that you are right re SCT3. your inabilty to understand the wave of ill feeling amongst the Shetland electorate.4. your challenge to OSCR and the decision to spend unknown amounts of money on proving how wrong you are re SIC/SCT5. lack of awareness of the root of the SIC problems6. poor judgement on pertinent issues7. before the electorate lose all respect for you Thank you
Para Handy
Have you ever heard of a solicitor Retired or not. Who would give up the goose that laid the golden egg.See what the smell of money can do. And someone who seems to blame everyone else but himself. When it comes to any kind of leadership. A man who can do no wrong. It would seem there is little honour in local government. The same as there is in national government
icepick239
Sandy can't/won't go yet...There is The Tall-Ships in 2011, the opening of Mareel and a couple of Up Helly Aa's yet to come. Not to mention the very tidy Conveners Salary and Expenses for the next 2 years... Njugle
For reasons of good practice, Shetlink requires that any allegations or direct criticism against public figures be fact based and substantiated. Please remember that in a thread of this type. Supposition as to "waves of ill feeling" could be claimed but without evidence are not really a fair comment. We all have our own opinions about public figures but shouldn't profess to know the minds of others without evidence to back it up. And remember the T&Cs, or the thread will be locked, etc. Thanks.
