HN38 - wow that is just lovely - where did you live? We live on a very very cold little house called East Biggins or East Toon on top of a hill. Did you go to the school? They are opening the school soon I believe as a couple of children have arrived from Birmingham. We shall be leaving Papa in the very near future - looking for a place on the mainland Shetland plus jobs - we really really like mainland Shetland especially the very friendly people. It has been really hard on Papa - however, we all think that we will be like you and have fond memories of the place.

Thank you so much for sharing your story with me it is just great

hiya we first lived at Robinas (if thats how its spelt) then a chalet down below it that has a red phone box outside it. I went to school there and was 2 other kids but i think it shut not to long after i left, if i mind right. My parents moved from there to sandwick and now i live in lerwick,(my parents are still in sandwick). When we went to move there it was recorded in a couple of the local papers in essex as it was such a big culture move. My dad worked there a couple o times when we still lived in essex and loved it so hence the move. Am glad they did the move, i go back to essex every year to visit family though. Lovely scenery in shetland, some of it i am still to see but its a beautiful place to live, good place to bring up kids to (i now have 3 of my own)

Wow - amazing! The chalet with the phone box is now a backpackers hostel - you will one day have to bring your 3 to visit (maybe stay in the hostel), and show them where "Mummy" lived! Papa Stour is very very beautiful. We would have loved to have given you all lunch or tea but will be gone soon!

Take care - so good to hear from you - Thank you

its something i would like to do one day when my baby is a bit older and able to walk so dont have to work with the buggy :) The chalet was just a normal 2 bed place when we lived there strange to think its a hostel, sure its nice though. Good to hear another story from someone who went from a busy place to such quietness :) Good luck with finding jobs and finding a new place on the mainland.

Good to hear back from you :)

Hayley
