HN38
i am with o2 and get a pretty good signal most places, except my house :S (lucky i have a land line) need to stand right at the window to get a half decent signal to phone or text, but apart from the house i do find it good
George.
HN38 You show your location as Lerwick, fine, you'll get a good signal. Come a few miles north and watch it fail miserably.
HN38
i know when i put that i ment in most places (that i go) i dont often venture north, o2 suits me where i need to go but obviously it wont work in areas same with other networks.there should be a mobile network suited to remote areas
George.
And just thought HN 38, you will get a GPRS signal, not a 3G one like all the modern mobiles. When will that happen, if ever?
HN38
i think there should be more signal masts about the place, to be able to reach the areas that have poor or no signals
lucylou
i live in yell and i have a really good vodafone signal and also when i was speaking to vodafone last week they advised that they are trying to get a 3g signal here for some time next year
Fifi
Here in Hillswick, Vodafone claim there's a good signal - wonder how many more ridiculous claims they make It depends where you are in Hillswick. Some have little or no signal (hotel & Booth) whereas others are ok. We're lucky in that we get either full or near-full signal. Fifi
Thanks DizzyKipper This explains it - the nearest base station shown to me is, eh, hmmm, oh, gosh, Lerwick, where there are two base stations shown together. Nothing shown in Brea or anywhere else north of Lerwick. Why is there nothing more? Do people up around here not use mobiles or is the base station perhaps, just perhaps, too expensive per head of population in this area!!!Collafirth Hill? George.
Thanks Fiona, didn't know there was one at Collafirth. Just after writing what I did, the postie arrived with a SureSignal box to plug into broadband so problems over now (when I'm indoors). Outside, we'll see
