upnorth76
Is it possible to switch Sky HD box for the Humax Foxsat HD box to receive freesat rather than paying subscription to Sky using the 2 RF cables that are currently in Sky HD box.. just curious if its a case of plug and play if i was to switch boxes.. MuckleJoannie
According to this website you should be ok. http://www.radioandtelly.co.uk/freesatfaq.html How do I get Freesat? Dish: If you don't have a satellite dish pointing to where Sky Digital's satellites are - you'll need to get a dish installed.
owre-weel
Is it possible to switch Sky HD box for the Humax Foxsat HD box to receive freesat rather than paying subscription to Sky using the 2 RF cables that are currently in Sky HD box.. just curious if its a case of plug and play if i was to switch boxes..I did this over a year ago and it is just a case of swapping over. I then put the skybox in the bedroom, which gives me a lot more chanels then freeview. You can buy a card from sky for a "one of" £20 fee, which allows you to see the regional chanels, like STV rather than ITV London, plus you get sky 3. Of course you lose Skyplus, but you will be able to record on your Foxsat.
guyroscope
Absolute doddle, just swap Humax box for Sky box. I find the menus on my Humax a bit slow but the recording and watching features are dead easy. If you want to get ITV HD you need to put in an English postcode !!!!!!!! geraldmanley
Just a warning for anyone considering giving up Sky for Humax Foxsat HDR. I purchased mine on Thursday and whilst set up has been easy, it only seems capable of recording one channel at a time. On my Sky HD box we could set up any number of recordings, even 2 at the same time. So far this has been impossible with Foxsat. It will record the first programme, but then misses out anything at the same time or even at a later time. Waiting until Monday when I can phone the "business hours only" helpline. Not impressed at this stage. Anyone had the same experience or is it me? Any help appreciated
