you dont need experience fixing it as the videos on youtube are a very good way of doing it without damaging the machine, just make sure you have the right tools for the job and ground yourself before you touch the motherboard

Last thing I heard, flashing red light means a broken hard disk. Same thing happened to my PS3 if I remember rightly. Seeing as you can so easily remove PS3 HDD's and replace them with bigger ones, you may as well.


Just make sure you get a 2.5" Laptop SATA 5400rpm drive, anything faster and the bay gets very, very hot.

Switched the playstation on today and the dreaded red light started flashing :evil:

Wondered if anyone has any remedies or ken of anyone local able to fix it. Plenty of video's online but it would be fine if someone who has already done it before would hae a look at it.


phone sony, they will help you. My ps3 developed this problem last month, after a 10-20 min call to sony all was fixed.. you may lose all data on hard-drive though
