daveh
I thought I read that DAB reception is coming to Shetland this year. Yes - here is the article from last year: http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pressreleases/stories/2010/03_march/23/digital.shtml

MuckleJoannie
I have just about given up on FM radio as the reception where we live is crap, partly due to a Decra roof. I listen to most of my radio through Freeview on the tv. However that is going to be restricted as BBC Alba is coming to Freeview, this being made possible by stopping BBC radio broadcasts when it is on air. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-highlands-islands-12049472
daveh
I wrote to the BBC asking when we can expect to receive DAB radio here and have now received this totally useless, bog-standard reply:**************************************************Reference CAS-511405 Thanks for contacting the BBC. I understand that you’re enquiring about DAB radio. Your DAB radio uses signals from all the DAB transmitters in your area, therefore if one of these is currently off air or on reduced power, this may affect your reception. BBC DAB local radio is carried by the local commercial multiplexes, and we are not able to provide the transmitter status information. You can check the ukdigitalradio website to see if you are covered: www.ukdigitalradio.co.uk You can keep a track of the progress on your transmitter by using the link below: https://faq.external.bbc.co.uk/templates/bbcfaqs/emailstatic/interferencePage I'm grateful to you for taking the time to raise your concerns with us and I’d like to assure you that we value your feedback highly. The comments we receive from our audience help to inform decisions and go towards improving our services. Thanks again for taking the time to contacting us. They have some terrific programmes.
MuckleJoannie
If the truth be told I might well watch it more myself, as I won't have to argue with the Sky watchers in the living room.. They had an excellent programme a while ago about Dennis Nilsen, the only serial killer of recent times to have lived for a time in Shetland, as well as some good folk music programmes.
