I was wondering what peoples thoughts were on the above, as today and i hasten to add not for the first time, i stood at the counter for ages until i was finally acknowledged, then when i asked if i could collect my tiles i was told they were not here.... but i had a phone call from you saying they were here was my reply and a blank look was given, i was phoned i said again as i would not have driven in from brae otherwise.

by this point i headed for the exit stairs and was chased by one of the female staff who said " oh yes they are here after all" mmmmm what is going on??

does nobody (rod robb)know when goods are in and customers contacted

should i just go to T & N's shiny new showroom from now on?

rant over, thoughts please

cheers

Hmm, let's just go easy here please, I'm not sure our T&Cs specifically cover negative comments on businesses.

Something I would say, though, is that while I more often go to Buildbase for building materials, I have never found the staff at LBCs downstairs desk, the boys in the wood store, or the office staff in the portacabin (pricing) to be anything less that gracious, attentive and obliging.

Though I've never used the showrooms, to be honest, or not in recent years anyway.

Be careful when you get a quote for a kitchen, make sure if they're giving you a quote for supplying a kitchen and appliances that they individually price each item so you know exactly what you're getting and at what cost. They wouldn't do this for me so I went to Buildbase instead and got everything priced the way I wanted and it was just over 2 grand less for an equivalent 'Chippendale' kitchen.

Saying that the bedstore is great with some good deals and helpful chaps working there and the same with the woodstore and the tool store!

Just have a quiet word in the ear of L. I. that his staff hadn't encouraged you to spend in his shop, it'll be fixed.

Now, Hays....just don't get me started on Hays.... Well, okay, I won't. Its been a bit of time, so I'll cut them as much slack that they *may* have improved. Losing a certain member of staff would have gone a very long way to achive that.....

Never had any trouble with LBC apart from once they sold me some unsuitable plumbing fittings but that was as likely to have been down to my poor discription of what I needed than a failing on their part and I'm sure had I gone to the bother of taking them back they would have seen me right I'm quite sure.

The shops are all extreamly busy at this time of year and it can't be easy trying to deal with double the work load when the staff numbers remain the same.

Perhaps Nortmin2, you could try to be a bit more patient and understanding as I dare say you would not appreciate it if any tiny mistake you were to make was then plastered over Shetlink!!

Crofter amy, Well if they are so sh*t hot, why does a kitchen quote take weeks and i mean weeks, to get done, when B&Q can do it in an hour? and much cheaper too?

it is like a ghost ship up there, no one wants to serve you or they send you down to the shop to pay for things, even though they have a till upstairs!!! at least the shop staff are good crack and help you!

and that wee lwoman who runs everywhere around up there, whats all that about? calm down love its only a job stop stressing
