Michael
I very much still trust the lib dems, and have solid reasons for doing so. I trust them to be advocates of the core principles they hold, and believe they haven't really compromised on these. And yes, that includes tuition fees. Talking about not seeing lib dems in the street canvassing - everyone I canvassed with for the general election last year is back again this year. This is at uni though, I have personally never seen anyone canvas in Shetland (except for the Scottish Christian Party I think?)

If the number of people turning out to vote in the last General election is anything to go by. I may vote lib/dem, or spoil my paper as I have done in the past...but I certainly don't trust them. Styumpie
They couldn’t care less about the rest of us, it's the limelight, the power and the glory they lust after, we dont need to look much further than our own MSP. Until we change how politics is funded/conducted in this country, expect more of the same regardless of who you vote or dont vote for.
O.G.
I wouldn't trust the Lib Dems even if my life depended on it. They're only in it for the power, nothing else. That's why they want this Alternative Vote. And as for Tavish Scott, it's time he let somebody else be our representative.
JustMe
O.G. wrote And as for Tavish Scott, it's time he let somebody else be our representative. Not strictly accurate. The local Lib Dems have to choose Tavish as their candidate and then the voters have to elect him. They decide who stands and who wins. Tavish is a mere spectator. Para Handy
No and no to Av as well. The fact that the fool Chris Huhne wants it so bad is the best reason to vote no to itThere was a good reason why the liberals were out of power for over a centuryNobody trusted them. wullie m.
Not just Shetland was Tory, Glasgow was also in my young day, and Scotland ditto. There's an awful lot of corruption needs weeded out, and Westminster, commons & lords, is as crooked as a corkscrew!
