The sun won't won't rise until 9am in winter :(

Dizzykipper; doesn't rise 'til 9.09am now. If this goes ahead it'll be after 10am before it rises in the midst of winter

I see that 'Dave' now wants to be a Time Lord. By making Scotland adopt Central European Time. Is this something we want in Shetland?

I have a traditonalist view on this and feel that if we are going to make a change we should shift to GMT all year round. This will bring us very close to UTC, recognised throughout the Solar System and beyond, by all craft originating from Earth anyway.

Given Shetland is an island, surely we don't have to adopt the same time zones the mainland UK.

The only issue would be boat and flight timetables, but that's hardly going to cause many problems and therefore a reason to change along with everyone else.

As many say it's going to be dark whatever but I think the present time set-up is the best of a "bad" situation i.e it kinda evens the day out so to speak wi sunrise at 9.09am and sunset 14.27pm(?).

It'll not matter what the Shetlander says anyway.....

Mind you, I think light at 10am would take a bit of getting used to :? .

There are enough problems in this world just now.

And what a pointless waste of everyone's time.

There is nothing this goverment wont keep there dirt hands out off.

Yeh, but they're thinking if we change the time zone we live in it might all go away

I don't know why they just don't ban night-time. Just think of the money you'll save by not having to put all the street lights on!
