shetlandpeat
Folk can be like children sometimes, brutally honest. If folk were to act like they do here sometimes in the pub then there would, I am sure an increase in calls to the police.Sometimes folk may not understand or realise the full picture, this is the time that folk help to explain rather than lambast or ridicule, some of which can have dire results. A student in life, which is what we are, unlinked from the thoughts of everyone and most of the the time, missing the point. We seem rather addicted to proving our own point, using a selection of quotes and so on. For debate to flourish, it needs feeding and fresh water, not stagnated. Guest posiedon
^ I never use pesticides myself, always preferring to haul out the weeds by hand.

shetlandpeat
Weeds are a matter of opinion only. There can be general views on what a weed is, but if you produce dandelion and burdock cordial, then they are a crop.I think a weed is an unwanted plant, a gardener generally works alone so he is the only one who can determine the status of a plant. This may be fine, but weeds should always be considered.Thoughts of a Flanders & Swan track now come to mind about clockwise and anti-clockwise climbing plants, the title escapes me for now. That song relates to a class thing, or discrimination (preset) and prejudice.
MJ
Somebody playing bagpipes outside their Bedouin tent? The Bedouin pipe are amazing! by far superior to the Scottish, they don't have that same headache inducing wail.
peerie-tattie
The Bedouin pipe are amazing! by far superior to the Scottish, they don't have that same headache inducing wail. You've obviously never stood in Liverpool's Lime street on Rememberance Day, Hearing " The Liverpool and Scottish Pipe Band " long before you can see them, the pipes echoing through the streets, and not a" head ache " inducing wail to be heard . Then the old boys appear, chests proudly displaying their meddles, some marching, others pushing their comrades wheel chair, along with the younger soldiers .( todays casualties ) those pipe players could move you to tears. and those men have far more reason than you or I to whinge and moan, yet they still appear to be proud to be British, and still not a "head ache" inducing note played by a single piper!! Guest SJP17
I think were all guilty to a bit of moaning , but it does tend to go over the top at times , everything that happens now is quickly picked up by the media or listed on a forum which gives people somewhere to vent their anger , Or have a go at someone or something without having to face anyone , its a bit sad really ! MJ
@peerie-tattie, each to their own, but the Bedouin pipes are gentler and closer to the good old Northumbrian Pipes (BRITISH and still don't have the headache inducing wail)Bagpipes are not originally British and originate from Pakistan/Afghanistan, they're as Scottish as the Tartan and the Kilt
peerie-tattie
i like the Arabic pipe music, it too has a soothing tone to it. i do say tho that the one thing you cant get any where in scotland is decent mushy peas from a chippy!! so shetland boys, what is your idea of a proper club?
