Yowe
I like diving too although haven't had all that much experience. I haven't been diving in shetland yet but I'd like to. Anyone got any info or stories about diving in Shetland?
Njugle
It's chilly. But otherwise, the water clarity is second to none, there's a lot more to see than you might expect, in the right places and there are two highly organised diving clubs to contact. If, however, like me you went to the bother of getting a PADI licence, it certainly used to be the case that they would 'encourage' you to do a conversion course, ie do it all again and more. I'm slightly out of date with this now but the last i heard they were lowering the goalposts slightly to allow greater access. There is the opportunities of freediving and snorkelling to consider also, no heavy gear, shallow dives close to shore and no regulations. Brilliant on a fine day! moorit
I saw a bit of squash in between volleyball games at the island games, it looked pretty good. Anybody play it, and know if it's easy for a beginner to pick up ?
drew_peacock
Badminton, walking. Is walking a sport? Walking is never a sport, it is mearly a means for poor people to get to a destination under their own means. Now car racing IS a sport, especially that rally stuff. Tearing through forests and running over the odd spectator or two...... Quality

That walking stuff in the Olympics is a joke, whats it all about. It's for punters that are crap at running. The Olympics also includes syncronised swimming, taekwando and weightlifting.....bloody hell, I can hardly wait for London 2012. Its not about winning medals in motor sport although if you can win a rally while sitting in a passenger seat, you no doubt deserve one

You sound like an eternal loser I thought that rally drivers had passengers to help them not to get lost in the forest ?
Distortio
The Olympics also includes syncronised swimming, taekwando and weightlifting all at the same time? i'd watch that. pool is a sport so i do that. and sometimes 4-a-side football.
