mary doll Posted July 7, 2006 Report Share Posted July 7, 2006 Can't guarantee 100% accuracy but this is the situation as far as I understand: The Judges decision today to allow Sakchai's Appeal is a momentus decision and very, very welcome. The reasons for their (two judges and one lay person I believe) decision will be outlined in their written submission issued "in due course". Once this has been issued the Home Office will be given time to consider the judgement and decide if they are going to appeal this. So, in response to the question "Is this all over?" The answer I'm sorry to say, is possibly no. All the hard work and effort by all is greatly appreciated and your continued support is essential to ensure we keep Sakchai where he feels he belongs! I've spoken briefly with Sakchai today and understandably he says he feels a massive weight off his shoulders and he's really looking forward to getting back tomorrow. Just watched the video clip on BBC - Sakchai is to be congratulated on dealing so well with all the media attention this unsought predicament has brought upon him. A future politician? Shetlink obviously has played an enormous part in keeping us informed - a huge thank you. Like many more, my introduction to your website was the Sakchai story and getting up to date posts has been excellent. I hope every single person that has signed a petition or sent an email or a letter in support of Sakchai has learned that united, we can change things. We can make a difference. The time spent helping to right this wrong has brought many people together that wouldn't normally be dealing with the same things as each other, and we have ALL shown what one united voice can do. Lets learn from this and take it forward, and keep on making a difference.
