I have not received many replies from MPs, however David Cameron's office was one that I did receive a response from.

I received a little more in my reply from David Cameron--

Dear ...,

Thank you for writing to David Cameron – I am replying on his behalf.

Many thanks for taking the time to email and bring EDM 2373 to our attention; we have carefully noted your comments regarding Mr Makao’s case.

However, as Leader of the Opposition, David Cameron follows the convention of only signing Early Day Motions which have been tabled on behalf of or in cooperation with the Conservative Party.

Once again, thank you for your email.

Yours sincerely,

Anna Biles

Correspondence Secretary

David Cameron's Office

House of Commons

London SW1A 0AA

The emails are having an effect...he is taking notice now...

If HO decides to appeal this afternoon's decision, this continuing campaign can continue to bring dividends.

Excellent decision today. Really good!

let's hope the Home Office now has both the sense not to appeal, and the good grace to make this known as soon as possible.

Wonder how many other people are in the situation Sakchai was in?

Maybe this is an odd thing to say, but I have a feeling of powerlessness, in that it is not possible to help those others, if they exist?

Anyway - aa da best, Mr M.

This website was posted in an earlier post - it makes very interesting reading and highlights a good number of immigration cases:

I am trying to remember who posted it... my memory is relatively rubbish though - I'll post when/if I remember.

Good news ... indeed !

"We are the people!" - That was the slogan that brought the Berlin Wall to its final fall.

Good to see that the Auld Rock kept the world moving ... well, the British Isles ... a bit, at least ... ;-)

@Sakchai

I wish you a lot of peacefull days on those beautifull islands and within such a great community!

cheerio ;-)

would u hae allowed onywan to hae dis kinda defeatist attitude when it came tae sakchai? whit happened to carrying on the momentum of dis fight tae help others in similar situations etc? dis sounds an awful lot like backtracking oot o dat kinda commitment now dat sumwan u ken has been "saved".

if they exist?

and are u seriously assuming dat Sakchai was da only person dat dis happened to?

I may have taken dis wrang, but dat is what it soonds lik.

tho thankfully dere have bin a few folk already on here sounding da rallying call for ithers in need, and long may dat sentiment continue.

1 down, how many mair to go? 8O

Eh, actually, naebody I ken or am ivver met, in dis instance.

peeriesooky - see debate thread da moarn. will reply dere, da moarn

why is it, jist as davie did, folk hae tae advertise their replies tae posts noo? is dis tae try and get aaboady tae view it and drum up support for it ? whits wrang wi jist posting?

as i said, i mighta picked it up wrang, but i still feel dat how i took it wis how it cam across, or at least could've bin taken. but dere's nae need fir folk tae start makin der posts "coming attractions". either post sumthing or dinna, dinna post sumthin jist tae say ur gonna post sumthing.

dere's nae need tae mak sae much o dis.

if i took whit u said wrang, jist say dat wisna ur intention and dat is it. end of story.

but then, perhaps you doth protest too much? :)

either way, well done sakchai, and in your case, let dis be da last o it

Welcome home Satch! Knew that government would see sense in the end! We will catch you for a drink and a spik when we all get back from Australia but just know we have been thinking about you the whole time that we have been here. Great to hear you are free, we had our own little celebration in Tasmania at 1am last night.

We will have another dram tonight with my Aunt tonight in melbourne. DavieG will probably be writing his own piece so will leave it to him.

All the best for now and see you soon mate

Love Richie, Mikey, Arlene and Davie.
