They've just slipped a bit after all, not fallen flat on their face like Maxwell did, so they'll be back crowing before you know it, and we'll be back listening to all the boring doom and gloom news. Europe too will benefit from a wake up call, and if it takes a few economies to go bust to do it, so be it. A collapsed economy isn't so bad, it gives the little man a chance to get a foothold as its the big boys and the establishment that gets rocked most. As for Africans dying like flies, they were at it long before any of us were around, and most likely will be as long after we go to feed the daisies, fishes or whatever. Anybody that needs telling that that is the case, really hasn't been paying attention for a while. Its a permanent problem, and will remain so until the majority of the population of the continent are lifted out of abject poverty and subsistence living. I'm no expert on boat hull design, but in a North Atlantic winter I'd say she'd likely want to spend more time under than on water, and whether the keel or wheelhouse be uppermost would be optional.
