Njugle
Has anyone here got any use out of Wolfram Alpha? I thought it was going to a handy service when I first was aware of it, but all the queries I put in it seem to come back either with no results, or inane, irrelevant stuff. Is it just me? Am I not using it correctly?
jz
^^ I am studying mathematics with the Open University and for some parts of some courses it has been invaluable. It is very useful to check many questions - either to confirm your answer, or to give an answer which then can be used to help your understanding of the problem. It can also give graphical representations of e.g. complex functions which again aid understanding. For anyone studying maths - at any level - I would say it is an exceptionally useful tool. It does make a good attempt at accepting natural language input. I can't comment on other areas, but I would guess it would also be very useful for say physics and engineering. Njugle
Thanks jz, as I thought, it's just me then. My queries are physics related, but I don't think I've gone about it the right way.
enkelt skapninger
I use Wolfram Alpha on occasion.I have heard rumours that the iOS5 Assistant will have some kind of tie in with the Wolfram Alpha database. I guess we'll find out on 4th October!
