daveh
I can recall reading, a couple of months back, that young Sandy Cluness was in talks with some Faroese guys, whilst on a trip there, to try and set up air links between the two groups of islands. Did anything happen about it? We would to visit the islands for a week next summer but it is a bind to have to drop down to maybe Edinburgh or Glasgow to fly there. Wheelsup
think you will find there is very little commercial value in offering a service to Faroe from Shetland. All previous services have had to stop due to an almost complete lack of uptake.

All previous services have had to stop due to an almost complete lack of uptake. In actual fact the Stanstead – Shetland - Faeroe service was well used, particularly the Stanstead -Shetland leg by tourists. The problem was a very foggy summer at Sumburgh resulted a lot of passengers being carried on to Faeroe where they had to be accommodated an flown back to Shetland when weather cleared. Wheelsup
But the number of passengers using the Faeroe -Shetland-Faroe legs couldn't possibly pay for a fraction of the cost of landing/handling. If the Shetland Stansted part proved so popular it should be someone like Flybe or Eastern doing those! Also the agenda of Atlantic is to support the economy of Faroe

daveh
It was from a Friday morning to a Monday morning with just 3 nights there. Not long enough stay time for me. I want to be there a week.

MuckleJoannie
The one off flight was charter by a group (I can't remember who) and they advertised the spare seats.
