DizzyKipper
Agreed... I don't know why the weather warning was removed from Shetland!! I would go with Magic Seaweed on this. Met office for Sumburgh reckons 74mph early Thursday morning... Add 10mph I reckon.
JustMe
If you scroll down to the bottom of this page http://www.yr.no/place/United_Kingdom/Scotland/Sumburgh_Roost/hour_by_hour.html there are links to pictures of the damage the last storm caused in Norway when the wind went up to a gust of 145mph. Or at least I think it did and is as I do not read Norwegian but just follow from the odd word.

I wondered if that comment earlier had been directed at me If I was in the air raid shelter I'd be worried because I wasn't at home... as much as I hate it. What DO you do if your roof blows off? What DO you do if your roof blows off? Ahhhh come on now DK, first you want snow so therefore, shouldn't the question be What DO you do if your roof collapses with the weight of snow? GT
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Red Sky at Night = Shepherd’s delight....Sheep drowned in morning = Global Warming
DizzyKipper
@ Unlinked - quite a steep roof so I don't think it would collapse from snow @ Stilldellin - nice pic @ GT - I like that! Feel sorry for the sheep though Actually can sheep swim? Oops off topic... I've been telling myself it's not like anybody actually gets their roof blown off, and I should calm down, and then I read that that several people had roof problems where sections were blown off or the fire brigade was called to secure roofs. I see the gale warning has been put back for Shetland.

I mind seeing it in The Shetland Times a year or so ago
stilldellin
^ would certainly score in the sound proofing department. Must be a peerie bit noisy trying to sleep upstairs in these Scandinavian homes in a force 10.
