Para Handy
^Here she is in all her invincible glory, just a few chips of concrete missing from an encounter with a ME 110 otherwise pretty well intact ! http://i1207.photobucket.com/albums/bb479/beenister/ars1.jpg Is this something to do with our potty councillors nuclear policy
Ghostrider
Actually can sheep swim? Oops off topic... Yes, relatively badly and for only short distances though, in most cases. They can fly too, with a little help, but we've not had wind that strong in the last few years.
stilldellin
Quote from Para :- Is this something to do with our potty councillors nuclear policy ? Maybe we should pack them all in there for a week for some blue sky thinking and see what comes out ! Wind now gusting to 56 mph, that's touching force 10. Hector's House
Would this have been a Scatsta or Sumburgh flight perchance? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-16397142
filskadacat
^ At least it makes sense that with that plane being relatively small it would find difficulty in coping with the wind. Friend in Glasgow yesterday, watching as his garden shed blew away, noted a 747 being 'tossed about like a paper plane' and aborting its approach to land. Ghostrider
What's with the gusts! Goes from dead silence to me diving for cover!! Got the forecast a bit wrong I think!! The price you pay for living with high sea cliffs to the west I'm afraid. Just be thankful Fitful is no higher than it is, you might have been on Foula where entire houses have been known to vanish in matchsticks (or so I'm told). stilldellin
^^ Must have been in noddy land but with yesterdays " quiet " morning I managed to reattach my anemometer cups which had decided to go their own way! At least we have finally got a morning with a " guid drocht " recent rainfall seems to be on a continual up and up trend. :-http://i1207.photobucket.com/albums/bb479/beenister/sdrain1.jpg
