It was a dry run for his all too short spell in the pokey!

And she's just as bad. Daily Record is not even fit for arsewiping my dog! That they should profit further sets my teeth on edge.

He has been an ass his whole life, a parasite feeding off of others that actually worked for a living and who he was supposed to represent. A corrupt, twisted, egomaniacal, wide-as-the-Clyde little spiv.

You're not wrong...

What I'll never understand is how such a "Socialist man of the people" could afford all the designer clothes you see him in. The bespoke tailoring, cashmere jerseys and coats, you know?

And as for his missus, well, it was noted by many that the ex-air stewardess did not wear the same designer clothing to her man's trial 2 days in a row.

So, an ex-air stewardess and a former "Socialist" MSP ... not seeing the massive earnings there. But maybe they live in a council house and eat egg and chips for tea? Somehow I doubt it...

Maybe the Daily Record pay that much for all his and her "exclusives" that it funds their comfortable lifestyle. Come the revolution, comrades...!! :P

He's a damn sight more than a ponce, but the auto-correct won't let me say. Funting scuzzpuck!

As for bugging a phone, he's an eejit. All surveillance in Scotland is subject to scrutiny on a regular basis (I think it's monthly?) by the Surveillance Commissioners. Every single form is scrutinised to make sure it's legal and hasn't been knocked up after the fact. I read an article on it last year in one of the better papers, but I can't remember which.

The important thing is, they're not cops, they're not beholden to cops and reportedly - and much to many cops' annoyance it seems - they give the polis a real hard time on whether it's required and proportionate. That last word is the kicker. They cancel loads of ones that have just started or been geanted on those grounds. They have THAT much power. It takes a superintendent or above to grant any type surveillance and at that level, these geezers aren't going to throw away their no doubt hefty pensions on a scuzzpuck like Our Tommy - hereby dubbed Tommy Funtwit.

Unless his lifestyle was funded by Qaddafi or Saddam?? Now THAT would be an "exclusive". (oh! Wrong MP, huh? Allegedly!)

His phone wasn't bugged, it was supposed to have been hacked by a journalist. His lawyer was going to give evidence to the Levenson enquiry but a search of the inquiry site does not find either of them

Have you ever heard a lawyer tell the truth :?:

You never see them take any oath in a courtroom

They can ask any bruck they want even if it is a lie

Aye, but supposedly they can't be sued for libel for any lies they spout about you in a court? That's a bit rich, surely?

Anyway, Sheridan has had his days in court. He was found guilty last time. Here's hoping that if he tells the same lies at his appeal, they jail him again for perjury... or is that "double jeopardy" and too much to hope for?

One word for anyone who thinks anything of that scuzzpuck...

Timex.

What a mess he made of that, and, by extension, all the workers and their families' lives, with his rent-a-thugs and his (usual) ego trip.

The fact that he masquerades as the "common man" and a "socialist" just makes it all worse, for me at least.

Grrrrrrrr

To clarify...

I'm not saying Funtwit caused the dispute, nor that he was responsible for the closure - so I could have worded my first better. That last was down to Saleh and a vote by the striking workforce.

My memories of this time are based on discussions with a relative who worked there, and conversations he had with my father before my relative's death. After many years of what he felt was unemployability and a refusal to invest in the area by many, in the wake of the dispute, his views had altered slightly. While he still felt Timex had wanted the factorys closure, or slave labour, he felt somewhat betrayed by the likes of Sheridan, who had used this and other "incidents" as his platform to national prominence or notoriety. He believed that a fair amount of investors were scared off by the ugly nature of some events, which he was adamant were 60%whipped up by Sheridan & co, with the other 40 being sparked or provoked by heavy handedness by powers that be (or were).

He regretted some of what went on, and resented and disliked Sheridan thoroughly. That would have risen in scale after recent events, I would think, had he not died suddenly and fairly young, still formally unemployed, other than casual work. I thought a lot of my relative - we were very close as I grew up - so if others don't feel the same about Sheridan, fine, their choice. This formed the foundation for my feelings though, and nothing about the years in between has done anything but harden my resolve and deepen my loathing. So for me, Timex and his involvement will always be a very negative thing. I know my relative would have got a smile out of seeing him banged up, though.
